∔ Chapter 2 ∔

"Where are you? I have your pancakes!" Ruth's voice came through my mobile.

"Why is that suddenly?" I silently spoke.

"You asked for that, Livi."

"Shh!" I said. "Bruh! Faster bro!" I urged the taxi driver next to me.

"What? Are you okay?" Ruth's worried voice stayed as such, "Why did you leave all of a sudden?"

"Yeh, Ruth, I know." I groaned, "I need to get back my credit card from the storm guy. He just snatched it before I could blink!"

I remembered the incident again.

"How, Livia? You know where he's?" Amidst the cutleries' noise her voice came out.

"Soon gonna know."

"What are you saying? It's just a credit card. Don't sweat too much."

"I know I can buy another one but can't buy my brother's trust. I begged him for this and he'll sue me for good if he knows what I did."

"Are you kidding me?" She paused and I didn't speak, "Okay, How'll you find his address?"

"On the way, Ruthie."

"Huh?" She spoke like an innocent.

"I'm behind his car."

"Are you insane? You just can't-"

"Yes, I'm insane." Pressing the decline button, I pushed my mobile in my apron pocket and pinned my eyes back to the black expensive car.

He's going nowhere out of my hawk's eye.

There was an immediate jam in the road and that's it. All the other vehicles veiled the view and his car disappeared like a sun does at night.

"Crap!" I hit the arm of the taxi driver in reflex and he began roaring at me.

"Sorry, sir. I-I am sorry. I didn't mean to." Adjusting my bangs, I tightly folded my hands to my chest and hung my head.

I've ruined it. Aiden will report the event to my mom and she'll make me starve for the whole night. He'll never really going to share the remaining stuff of his.

I've already broken his skateboard tires, lost one sneaker of its pair and bore holes in his pants in the name of ironing it, broken the leg of his chair when I jumped while laughing hard for a joke, etc.

"Uh..." I shut my eyes tightly when I remembered I also spoiled my dream of buying a camera.

My photography dream...

You don't worth it, forget it.

Maybe my mind voice is true in this case.

"Where's the next point ma'am?" The driver still kept his cool, kinda wonderful.

"I am not responsible, am I?" That came out of my mouth easily. I don't know why.

"Ma'am?"

"I don't know how to take care of silly things in daily life. I ruin everything around me. I am a curse. I just eat, sleep, ruin everything and repeat. My purpose of life, huh?"

I wish someone hear that. I can't handle the thought of missing my chance of photography.

The driver stared at me for a while, thinking that I would say something further but I didn't.

Who was he? His temper and my credit card, blow!

What a day?

"Drop me back to Ruth Espresso, sir." I spoke silently and he pushed the gear.

The place came back but I didn't came back from the grief. When I got down of the taxi to pay him, I froze by the driver's voice.

"I don't figure out what's you're trouble, ma'am." He looked at me and spoke gently, "But remember, there's always a tail for the problem which would lead you to the solution."

He smiled at me and I reflected it back. What is the meaning though?

"I guess you're looking for someone. Don't worry, you'll meet the person soon."

A thunder casted as a flash, tearing through the thick cloud and I am sure, the driver sounded both excited and threatening at the same.

"Thank you, sir. I'll pay you know." Said I took my purse and gave the dollars.

As the taxi drove off, I just stood with a thought sinking with a spark. The driver's words ran in every neuron of my brain.

There's always a tail for the problem which would lead you to the solution...

"There is a solution?" I mouthed.

That arrogance of the man in tux. I hated it the most.

"Think Livia, think..."

The way he used 'fuck' those many times, the way he kicked the chair...

I looked at my purse to close it.

...The way he threw his wallet at the bill counter.

"Wallet! That's it, I got him!"

Without wasting another second, I ran towards the counter and hurdled over the table. Emily don't appreciate that, but I gave no care.

I WANT HIS WALLET!

As I shuffled through papers and notebooks, I held it. His leather wallet was like a lottery ticket I got to find. No one took it, great!

My friend came out by the sound and screamed. "Livia, you're here!"

"Yes, I'm here again." I opened the wallet without looking at Ruth, and found lot of stuffs.

I stretched the sides of it and all the things inside it got dropped on the floor as I sat on my knees.

"What are you doing?" Ruth put her hands on her head and whine.

There were dollar bills, royal credit cards and some visiting cards from the wallet. My eyes gleam at the sight as I took one of them and it shone like a star in a rectangle shape.

There were plenty of the things which I inferred from the card and I beamed in ecstasy, "Gotcha!" And hugged Ruth who have no idea of what I was up to.

"Is it a good thing?" She didn't get to know what's coming.

"A good news indeed!" I showed her the visiting card, "He needs to pay back what he signed up for."

"What you're gonna do with this?"

"I got his address. So, I'll meet him in person and speak about this." I grinned to myself. "I'm not letting my dream with a snatch of his."

"You're crazy!" She laughed and hugged me back.

"Where's my pancake, Ruthie?" I jump back to the relieved subject and we both went to the pantry to spend some time with each other.

At least, I am trying to save my ass from the consequences of losing the credit card. Anyways I'll get it as soon as possible.

Tomorrow is a big day!
