Boredom: The Unscored

Hello Stalkers!

To be honest, I am bored right now. Perhaps this article fits in right now. 

I was staring at the wall blankly trying to fill my time by doing something. That’s called Boredom. It is a common feeling.

Actually, most of us kept ourselves busy even when we are granted with breaks. 

Let me make you agree to that. Take for example when you sit simply in the bus stop and waiting. Will you stay silent or grab your phone to scroll through stuff?

During your flight, will you prefer to sleep or listen to song?

If the food you ordered had been delayed, will you be silently waiting for it or taking pictures of yourself in the luxurious restaurant?

This is how we hop into the pit of tiresome. We don’t give any pause for our brain to return to its normal state. It is already exhausted doing things the whole day, yet you won’t even provide sound sleep during night in the name of chatting with your so-called-lover.

Why so? 😑

We are simply afraid to be bored. 

Yes.

We are not ready to face our own mind during boredom that we seek temporary refuge. Because, if we sit alone without doing anything, our minds will not sit simply. It starts gushing 10 million thoughts per second that our heads would burst into pieces.

Recall the last time you have sit silently, alone or even in the crowd, and introspect how many thoughts would have attacked you for each minute.

That too, all of them would be based on regret, sadness, worry, insecurity, self-doubt, blame or aggression.

Everyone of us encountered such state. Consequently, when such situation occurs again, we doesn’t allow ourself to endure the boredom. We jump into mobile phone, listening to songs, play games, chat, gossip with friend, or do other unwanted things — which are mostly tiresome.

Return to boredom? 🫤

It sounds really scary, right? But I swear, you would get a chance to reflect on your thoughts and face your REAL self in the mean time. 

Everybody acts as disciplined, genuine, cute little creatures on the outside but what runs inside our minds are worth giving jump scares between a rom-com movie!

We all have the ugly part inside us, which we never want to uncover. But we need to accept that’s who we really are and it’s not thing to blame. 

We really need time to deal with ourself, discover our problems, what’s stopping us, what we really are, how good we are, how bad we are, why we act that way the other day, what we actually like or dislike and why, instead of roaming stupidly around and hanging out with friends in online all the time.

The most painful and scariest thing in the world is to look in the mirror and not recognize the person staring right at you.

Boredom gives you the opportunity. You know, it is difficult to deal with our minds at the beginning but it’s the sweetest thing you could do to yourself.

You’ll eventually unlock parts of you which you think you are not and accept it as such. That’s called real self-love. Loving yourself for whoever you are. Not just about doing bubble bath, workout, diet and facial yoga.

The Best Part 😘

Usually, I get fascinating ideas during my bath. Because, that’s when I really feel bored. 

Suddenly a new idea sparks just like that, out of blue. That would be the solution for the biggest problem. Ever felt that? That’s why I always rely on bathroom to relax. 

You’ll have nothing to do there. No one will stare at you whether you are actually bathing or not. I, mostly, sit and sulk or sit on the floor under the shower and let all the thoughts consume me. No people will see me cry there or judge me.

It’s just me, my tears (sometimes) and my pathetic self on the floor. And I am not ashamed of that. That’s so satisfying like playing with slime. Unlike with slime, you don’t have to do anything.

Boredom always precedes a period of great creativity.

You can just watch yourself doing nothing. (Reminds me of 5 star advertisement!)

Just do nothing, guys. 

Biggest advice ever found. 


The next time you find yourself trapped in any hardship, don’t seek refuge. Get bored. Let all the thoughts come and just swipe right. Watch them talk to you but don’t reply. Remember it is just a thought, nothing more.

You’ll feel disgusted at first about how cruel or how dumb your thoughts are. I have witnessed it myself but smooth it down to a levelled up personality. 

You are always beautiful and there’s no doubt about it.

So, stop stressing your brain by shifting it from on job to other. Be bored and snatch the best part you offered to yourself.
