Habit: The Unsorted

Hello Stalkers!

We all want a fricking fulfilling life filled with happiness in everything which blooms around us. And I’m not gonna disagree with that. I love to hope for the best and I believe in it so much.

Sometimes our expectations meet reality—and other times, they don’t.

And there is one stick-man who acts as the reason behind it.

Habit

That one word, I always despised to say or hear.

‘We need to develop good habits. Habits shape our lives. Practicing regular habits is essential for-’ Bla Bla Blah!

My parents, teachers and all elders with respect reinforce that HABITS ARE THE BUILDING BLOCKS OF I-DON’T-KNOW DESTINY.

What do I do about it? 🥱

Well, I admit, I hate shaping my habits for my new future, upgraded-self. Because, we all know the significance of habits and to be the revolutionary-level of who we are right now takes an impactful habit to implement.

In my introspection, I realised ONE THING that DIDN’T WORK & ONE THING that DID WORK for me. And hoping that would be for others too.

First thing, you like it or not, if you want to be successful/ valuable/ rich/ happy, you need habits which meets some requirements.

Ex:

>If you want to have beautiful physical appearance, you have to work out every single day. (Habit: Work out)

>If you want to get good marks in exam, you have to practise your lessons every single day. (Habit: Practising your lessons)

This goes for almost anything in the same manner. (Did you saw that ‘every single day’ in each example? Will come onto that ;) )

What I say is, everyone wants to achieve something. SOMETHING! And that demands HABITS.

So, you can’t actually escape from the loop. As James Clear said in his book ‘Atomic Habits’,

Fix the inputs and the outputs will fix themselves.

We really need to fix the inputs.

Inputs? 🤥

It’s nothing but Habits. The unsorted part of our pathetic lives. The cycle of waking up and working our arses off till we hit the bed snatched our chances to look upon the inputs we’ve been feeding our daily life.

Eat good to exist. If the food is spoilt… We throw up. Same goes for lives.

Have good habits to become who we want to be. Else, stay wherever you are like a stagnant water.

Happiness only comes from doing work, a lot of work I would say. We only feel discontented not when we are burdened, but when can’t do something; When we are feeling inability. Lot of people have misconception about it.

Let me tell you what I’ve been doing since my fourth grade.

I always prepare a routine sheet< Plan every habit in that day< Mention them hour by hour< And that would never last over four days.

End of story.

This happened to me almost for a decade.

Every year, I would plan lot of goal and respective habit. I take resolutions which I knew I would never satisfied. I’ve read books about self-improvement and all. Learnt about what is Keizen (means it takes 21 days to form a habit), how habit is formed, the goodness of waking at 5 am (that was my major habit-goal since my lifetime, I swear) and yet I struggled.

I was stranded at the middle of the week of the habit’s birth. My longest streak of any habit lasted for four days, note this point.

I fall every time. Something comes up and push me off the plan. Name it, periods, sudden travel schedule, shutdown in town, etc.

I have cried over it many times. All the times. Just because I was unable to do a habit. Seeing people in YouTube about excelling in a habit by doing it consecutively made me jealous and inferior.

But I’m done being like that.

The Sortation… 🐾

I’ve told you what didn’t work out. Trying to implement what others said in books or vlogs — was the intense part of my downfall (according to my research over myself).

Check for yourself what suits you before reading further.

Another drawback is, I tried to change my whole day whenever I feel like bringing a habit into my life. And I think that is the stupidest thing to ever do.

Reasons why Habits never some your way:

  1. Trying to put other’s ways just like they said or taught.

  2. Changing the whole day’s habits.

  3. (Most important) Believing you can’t do that habit at all.

To sort the habit-problem, we need to do the opposite of all the reasons. Simple. (But not easy, lol.)

You know, it took me years to find these faults in my system? Because I wasn’t reflecting on myself. Busy chasing something!

So, I strictly suggest to watch what you’re doing and what affects your actions and beliefs. Not like a spy spooking in the shadows of subconscious mind, all the time.

At times, you get in your ride back from office, while waiting for someone, or even during dinners when you are alone.

But, I’m sure, the above mentioned reason will go for most people. Just telling about all these to not making you to fall for my words just like that.

Take from my words only if it goes for you.

If you do the same thing, then you are wrong. Just like me.

Every single day? 🌼

Just like the sunflower raising its head to the sunshine every fricking day, we need to do the opposite of the reasons every singe day.

Opposite of the reasons:

  1. Find what fits in your life, than imposing other’s idea.

  2. Changing selective or less habits.

  3. Believing that you can change one day.

By the first point, I mean two things. Read, watch videos, get inspired or motivated but only pick what really works for you. Lot of people just do things which others suggested just because they could agree upon the fact.

That’s not gonna work for a long shot.

If it doesn’t work for you, get the idea and store it as an information. This may help you in some other day by some chance. Neither ignore, nor take it with all the punctuations.

Your life is different from others. Including, place, food, experience, belief system and everything. So, no matter whatever you learn, try to implement in your own way.

By second point, I mean an interesting thing. This week, I wasn’t been hard on myself unlike past years. I just picked two habits to change for a month. For this month, I chose to wake at 6:30 am and make my bed. That’s it.

I didn’t shift to a new lifestyle of overwhelming habits.

I just flipped two of my already existing habits into a little more comfortable yet powerful habits. Think in a long shot. If I continue this till December, I would probably changed 18 of my habits!!

That’s is far better than falling off my streak of huge stakes.

Something is better than nothing.

This gave me flexibility, no big difference, no overwhelming feeling to drown me and not at all exhausted. Most of the time I noticed, I was exhausted so I quit. Not this time, God!

These two points demonstrated how not only you’ve corrected your inputs but also how to knock out habits every single day. Yes!

When you are not exhausted, not swamped or feeling regretting, you will automatically do it immediately and consistently.

Changing only two habits will give you a sense of lightness, thus unlocking your ability to do it easily.

Not a big secret at the same time not so obvious, right?

The same author written,

Behind every system of actions are a system of beliefs.

That’s the final point for you, stalkers. Believe that you are not someone who would quit every time. I imposed that blame on me for years, not anymore.

Just get up and get back.

If this doesn’t work out, go the other way. Search for solutions on how to do it. Never run out of the fire in your heart. When you really want to do something, the universe will itself produce hints in your life. Catch hold of them.

Practise patience. Wait till you get to your moment. Don’t worry, you will get to your habit-goal.

And if you are falling off the streak, trust the process, you are learning. Treat yourself with care, don’t blame yourself for your inability. Everyone has it.

All you need is, care and time. Until then, your habits will remain unsorted. Once you tip it up, you will eventually evolve. This process is slow. Get yourself a small reward whenever you did that without fail.

Something by just saying words, patting on your back, posting on your social media, buying yourself chocolate etc.

Because self-appreciation and gratitude have an impact in your inner self (not your conscious mind).

Make yourself feel happy when you do something. Introspect and reflect on your past mistakes, you surely will stumble on a worthy hint.

If you don’t love yourself, then who will…
